Ontariogreen grew out of the work pioneered by Liz Benneian, the award-winning former president of a community environmental organization. At the request of teachers, Liz developed environmental science presentations that grew into a full suite of curriculum-based presentations for Grades Kindergarten to 8. Some high school programs, and programs for special needs students, are also available.
Over the past 4 years, more than 44,000 students in 11 Ontario Regions have benefited from these programs.
Grade 7 students break into groups to discuss better transportation options after learning about current transportation issues and urban planning challenges.
Ontariogreen is a charitable, volunteer-led organization that is dedicated to providing environmental education in classrooms and communities.

Ontariogreen works with community partners to improve knowledge about the environment so people will be able to make decisions that reduce environmental harm and improve biodiversity by saving energy, eliminating waste, conserving water, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, planting native plants, caring for natural areas and supporting local food production.
