Ontariogreen grew out of the work pioneered by Liz Benneian, the award-winning former president of a community environmental organization. At the request of teachers, Liz developed environmental science presentations that grew into 30+ curriculum-based presentations for Grades Kindergarten to 8. Some high school programs and presentations for adults are also available.

Over the past 10 years, more than 80,000 students in 13 Ontario Regions have benefited from these programs.

Ontariogreen is a charitable, volunteer-led organization that is dedicated to providing environmental education in classrooms and communities.

Our History

Ontariogreen works with community partners to improve knowledge about the environment so people will be able to make decisions that reduce environmental harm and improve biodiversity by saving energy, eliminating waste, conserving water, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, planting native plants, caring for natural areas and supporting local food production.
